I'm Jason/[generating witty username], a Wisconsinite nerd-of-some-trades who sucks at describing himself and website coding!
Anyway, now I'm going to describe myself on this website I coded
I'm a geospatial analysis and technology major, but nobody ever knows what that is, so I usually just say I'm a geography major, at UW-Eau Claire. Basically I like making maps. A lot. The geography department won't shut up about how geography isn't just maps and it's actually the study of everything, it's really deep actually. Nope. For me it's all maps, all the time. You can see some of my maps on the website. Eventually. I haven't gotten around to that yet.
I also like alternate history. And taking pictures of industrial landscapes and power lines. Not really for some pretentious reason like "oh this is super deep and means stuff". More that it's just a vibe. I love puzzle/exploration games, especially Metroidvania stuff as of late. You can find information about other stuff I like on the "cool stuff" page. Or will, this website is the WIPest website to ever Work In Progress. Future projects that I may or may not undertake depending on what my dysfunctional ass is willing to actually do include building a gaming PC, becoming a regular contributor to Wikipedia and OpenStreetMap, and learning to draw.
Why did I make this website? Mostly just so I could have an outlet to share the various creative projects. I used to be @wisconsinmapper on Twitter but quit because I don't think social media is good for my mental health. It doesn't really matter what platform it is, social media always just feels designed to keep people in a perpetual state of hopeless despair and anger. That and I just want a corner of the web that I can customize to my heart's content without having to worry about character limits or pleasing the algorithm or whatever. Ultimately it was my friend and Homestar Runner that convinced me to start a Neocities page and go Back To A Website. So now this is a thing. More or less. Am I rambling? Probably. Here's a picture of Otis, my dickheaded, terrifyingly stupid cat who is currently under house arrest until we can get him to stop spraying inside.
